My Fears?

So I was just thinking and figured I would share some of my fears about going to South Korea. However, despite these fears, I am superrrr excited to go through this experience. :)

1. Okay so first... PLANES! I absolutely hate planes, although I haven't even been on one :S I'm scared of heights in general, so the thought of being stuck up in the air for almost 14 hours is terrifying.

2. Getting lost in Korea. So here's the thing, I feel like this shouldn't be a fear at all considering I live in NYC and take trains and buses all the time, but transportation in Korea seems reallyyy confusing (although much much cleaner :D) *crosses fingers that I never get lost*

3. Host families. We haven't gotten our host family info yet but I'm scared that my host fam might not like me! Silly, I know but still ya know, who wants to not be liked by people you'll be living with for about 6-8 weeks.

4. Accidentally being disrespectful .__. I've been into korean culture for about 2 years now, and I think I know a lot about being respectful ( like accepting things with 2 hands ect. ect. ) but I know mess ups are sadly inevitable >.>.

Heading to Korea!

Hi guys! So this is my first post just to tell you all about how I got the amazing opportunity to study abroad in South Korea this summer. This summer I will be going through an organization called NSLI-Y (National Security Language Initiative for Youth) to Seoul, South Korea to study Korean while also living with a host family. I'm super excited!! ... but there's only a month left, and I haven't even thought about packing yet :( haha. ( Learn more about NSLI-Y )
